Payton Swift

Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner | Registered Psychologist

I’m Payton, a Psychologist providing assessment, counselling and behaviour support services from Thursday to Friday. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology and have experience supporting clients across the lifespan.

I’m passionate about creating a safe, relaxed and non-judgmental space where people feel comfortable being themselves. I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach and work alongside clients to develop personalised support plans that align with their goals. I can help with anxiety, depression, stress, disordered eating, psychosis, trauma and interpersonal difficulties. As well as challenges associated with having a different brain style, like autism and ADHD.

I use an informal, relationship-based approach that meets people where they are. With adolescents and adults, sessions often take the form of open, reflective conversation guided by curiosity and the themes that matter most to the individual. With younger children, I use play as a primary language, integrating skill-building when it’s helpful and developmentally appropriate. My work is flexible and process-oriented, grounded in the belief that growth happens through feeling understood, safe and engaged.

In my practice, I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), play therapy, relaxation strategies and practical skills training.
