Team Leader Therapeutic Services | Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner | Registered Psychologist

Team Leader Therapeutic Services | Clinical Psychology Registrar | Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner

Katie is a Clinical Psychology Registrar with a Master of Clinical Psychology (Advanced Entry), Master of Professional Psychology, Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) and Bachelor of Management. She works with adults, adolescents and children, supporting clients experiencing a range of psychological difficulties, as well as those who may simply feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unlike themselves.

Katie particularly enjoys working with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, low mood, self-esteem difficulties, relationship challenges, life transitions and emotional difficulties. She also has extensive experience supporting clients with more complex and longstanding presentations, including trauma, neurodevelopmental differences including Autism and ADHD, personality difficulties, eating disorders, attachment difficulties, complex behaviours and high-risk presentations.

Katie takes a warm, practical and collaborative approach to therapy. She works with clients to understand what is contributing to their difficulties, build insight and develop practical strategies that support meaningful change in everyday life. Her approach is trauma-informed and draws on evidence-based therapies including CBT, DBT, ACT and EMDR, alongside Positive Behaviour Support where appropriate.

Katie also has experience in psychological and neurodevelopmental assessment, including Autism, ADHD, cognitive, learning and complex assessments. She has a particular interest in understanding the interaction between neurodevelopment, trauma, mental health and behaviour, and how these factors can influence an individual's day-to-day functioning.

As Team Leader Therapeutic Services, Katie provides clinical leadership and support to the psychology team while continuing to work directly with clients and their families. She is also a Board Approved Supervisor for the 4+2 and 5+1 internship pathways, supporting the training and professional development of psychologists and provisional psychologists.

Katie provides services to Medicare and NDIS clients, including clients accessing Mental Health Treatment Plans and Eating Disorder Treatment Plans.
