Cainan is a Registered Psychologist and endorsed Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner with more than 9 years’ experience supporting individuals with disability to improve quality of life and reduce behaviours of concern.

He is passionate about minimising restrictive practices and applies a trauma-informed, person-centred approach that considers the needs of all parties when developing his interventions. In addition to his direct work with clients, Cainan serves as an Independent Specialist on Restrictive Practices Authorisation panels for the Department of Communities and Justice. He also has experience as a Behaviour Support Manager, where he trained and supervised teams of behaviour support practitioners to uphold ethical and evidence-based behaviour support practices.

Based in the Newcastle and Hunter Region, Cainan provides assessment, counselling, and behaviour support services. He is registered with Medicare, the NDIS, and SIRA, and has experience providing psychological services to veterans through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs. He is also available for EMDR therapy and professional supervision for Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners.
