Dr Charmain Newman

Clinical Psychologist

Dr Charmain Newman is a clinical psychologist with more than 20 years experience working with children and families in educational and therapeutic roles. She has experience in community and private health settings, working with adults, adolescents and children in mental health, community health, early intervention, education and trauma services.

Dr Newman employs and integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and implements attachment and psycho-dynamic approaches to help clients better understand the links between earlier life experiences and their current difficulties.

As a Board-approved supervisor for the 4+2, 5+1 programs and Clinical registrar Programs,  Dr Newman is looking forward to supporting provisional psychologists on their journey to registration, as well as supporting agencies meet the supervision and reflective practice needs of their staff.
